Based on the renowned The Lord of the Rings motion picture trilogy, LEGO The Lord of the Rings takes players through the epic story events, reimagining them with the humor and endless variety of LEGO gameplay. Frodo, entrusted with the dangerous task of destroying an ancient magical ring that threatens all that is good, is forced to leave his peaceful home. However, the ring yearns to be found, and the road to Mount Doom, the only place where it can be destroyed, will be perilous and riddled with Orcs and fouler beings.

To aid Frodo, a Fellowship is formed, comprising Aragorn the Ranger, Gandalf the Wizard, Legolas the Elf, Gimli the Dwarf, Boromir a Man of Gondor, and Frodo's Hobbit friends Sam, Merry, and Pippin. Players take on the roles of these iconic characters, reliving the legend through the LEGO minifigures as they explore wonders, solve timeless riddles, and overcome endless foes in their quest to destroy the Ring.

The game follows the original storylines of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, allowing players to traverse the vast open-world of Middle-earth, experience epic battles with Orcs, Uruk-hai, the Balrog, the Witch-king, and other formidable creatures, and harness the power of the Palantír or Seeing-stone.

Families can team up in pairs as adorable LEGO The Lord of the Rings minifigures, encountering countless dangers, solving puzzles, and battling fearsome foes on their journey to Mount Doom. The game features over 60 playable characters, including Frodo, Aragorn, Gandalf, and many others, each with their own unique abilities and weaponry, such as the Light of Eärendil, Elven rope, swords, and bows.

The LEGO The Lord of the Rings heroes come to life in a new way, with the minifig characters delivering the dialogue from the beloved films. Players can explore the Misty Mountains, delve into the Mines of Moria, knock on the Black Gate of Mordor, and partake in epic battles, all while harnessing the humor and imagination of LEGO gameplay to solve puzzles and uncover the secrets of Middle-earth.
